My Bio
:bulletblue: Art is the beautiful expression of our imaginations... or a sneak peak at how weird and wonderful we can be! (I'm pretty open minded, but there are things out there that I just carefully steer around. But everyone to their own!)

:bulletblue: I don't always follow or like the popular things/trends/places - I tend to mostly fall into the pit of the obscure and cult (or just stuff that people love to hate on so they fit in with the crowd). I'm not adverse to popular things, and I don't want to rain on anyone's parade if they enjoy to follow those kind of trending things. I guess you could say with such things I'm a zombie whose been let off the chain to wander where I like, but sometimes I might shuffle after the zombie hordes to hang out.

:bulletblue: If you have a passion for a particular game or television show/movie or whatnot, don't let anybody criticize you at any point for focusing on or sticking with something you love. You can love what you like, though just make sure not to go too overboard, as not everyone may be fans! There is always room for other passions, too, but if you're not interested in something that someone else is talking about, don't let them make you feel bad about it. You're not here to appease people - nobody can force you to like something! If they can't understand, then that's their problem! Be proud to have a passion in your heart!

:bulletblue: Art is a hobby, one I want to find further inspiration and improve on. There are so many people here who have driven me creatively and spurred my imagination, for which I will be forever grateful! My art might not be amazing, but as long as I produce fun things that shares one passion or another, then I'm happy enough. Let's always support growth and progression for other artists and writers!

:bulletblue: Complimenting something or someone off the back of the criticism of another is just awkward and arrogant. Just don't do it.

:bulletblue: Friendship is a gift. We will meet many people over our lifetimes and share common interests. Sometimes we fit perfectly, and sometimes we don't, though we can always get around such things, but if you can't, then let it drift apart naturally without drama. Who knows? Maybe one day you may come across that person again and you find it works out better the next time! Can't do that if you throw gasoline on the bridge in a haughty, indignant rage! Also, friendship is not about people having to pander to or meet particular expectations. Give and take in friendship should not equate to having to do or say things if you don't want to. Friendship is about understanding, there are no set rules. You are not indebted to fulfill requirements simply because you are friends. Learn about each other, find your middle ground and have respect and compassion without ego and derision.

:bulletblue: It's understandable there are people out there who don't like sharing their works, but there has been too many times that I've seen people who don't do that freely berate others over their works. They're usually people who don't want to put their works on the same account they make such comments on. Showing respect to others and offering constructive criticism fairly will regularly earn you good treatment in return. If you can't handle critical feedback, don't blame others over it. Generally people aren't always out to get you personally (with critique or otherwise). In the end, just put yourself out and there and be humble and fair to others, and you will see positive outcomes.

:bulletblue: Some of the most fun times is when you completely surprise a fellow artist with a random work of art that you've been secretly creating just for them. Sometimes people don't need to request things to get a little bit of love shown back for all their support and kindness!

:bulletblue: Everyone is welcome to my home here on Cloud 9.5, as long as you wipe your feet on the way in and bring plenty of snacks!

So, noticably, I don't upload art or post much anymore. Just to confirm, I do pop on every now and then to check out people's artwork, but I am mostly AWOL. I still have commissions to fulfil and these will be done, rest assured, but I am now focused away from dA for artwork as I do art for business now. Given I don't want dA claiming any rights to use any of that art, that will remain away from this site. Though, saying that, I will have odds and ends to post sometimes when I undertake hobby or commission artwork. My time has just become a lot more limited now compared to years ago. Though, I am not particularly motivated to do artwork generally beyond my obligations , mostly because of the change of the creative landscape. It's honestly disheartening to see dA jump on the AI bandwagon, but I appreciate that they have set up to protect artists, at least on dA, from having work - written or drawn - absorbed into their AI creation. Knowing that wider AI just takes artwork to become

All in the title. I only really just remembered how to find the notifications! I miss the old dA! Maybe I'm just too stuck in my ways! Even so, I think I'm getting the hang of certain elements, even if some things are literally impossible to find without having to dig deep into the FAQ sections, which can then direct take you where these hidden folders/sections/whatever are! Anyway, enough of that, you might see the odd artwork turn up from time to time from me while I'm on a kick with work stuff. Nothing too grandiose, but hopefully some little gems.

20 Years!

1 min read
I cannot believe I've been on dA for 20 years. Amazing how time flies! Notably I'm not posting as much anymore, though I still have things to fulfil at some point (Commissions mainly) in my ever increasing work pile. I have noticed my art request list has gone walkabout, so I'm not sure anymore on that front what I still owe people. Very annoying! Hopefully I will find it and recall who wanted what! A lot of my art commitments are now going into works that I make to sell. With dA's T&C's as they are, I won't be uploading any of my work stuff here. Anything else I finish casually I will happily put up here when it's done. I hope everyone has an artistic 2023 and beyond!

Commissions

COMMISSION PRICES!

The following is the pricing for my commissions per different aspects (updated for 2024): -

  • Character portraits or close up pieces - £20 (+£5 per extra character)

  • Half body character - £30 (+£10 per extra character)

  • Full body character - £40 (+£15 per extra character)

In addition: -

  • No background (Flat Colour/Transparent) - Free

  • Simple/Basic background (Mixed Colours/Patterns/Symbols etc...) - £5

  • Detailed Background (Complicated objects/buildings etc...) - £10

Additional Costs: - These apply for the following: (Complicated details like armour, animals, weapons, robots, vehicles. (These will require time for practice and trial and error) // Excessive gore or nudity (all pieces must adhere to deviantarts rules in terms of adult content) - £10 per particular element.

If you require artwork done by a specific date or in a shorter amount of time then might be expected, an extra £10 will be added to the cost to cover specifically dedicated time towards the piece, as well as an incentive.

All images will be in full colour as part of the commission package. A cost will be totalled up from requests given based on the above aspects.

OTHER INFO:

Commissons are NOT to be reposted back onto deviantart or other art related sites. Artworks are for personal use only (cannot be used commerically for any reason!) with full credit given to the original artist with linkage back to my page here on deviantart. All rights to the image are retained by myself creatively as the artist.

If you would like to commission me for artwork, you can contact me via the notes system. I do accept paypal preferably, though I will accept points if needs be!

Commission times will vary depending on the complexity of the images. My goal is to get pieces completed within 4 weeks, or even sooner if a piece is more straightforward. Though be aware that if a piece is quite complicated, my timeframe can go up to 24 weeks, taking into account my work schedule. I would hope in terms of complicated works, that I might be able to get them done within 7 - 12 weeks. All this can be discussed in the outset. In other circumstances, commissions may be delayed a significant extent depending on the piece and outside complications. You can check the progress of your piece below, which will have a percentage update and info on what stage the piece is at.
